King Salmon Fishing
Fish the lower Kenai River (near Soldotna and Sterling) or Resurrection Bay for giant king salmon June through July. Kenai River kings are the
largest in the world; the world record king was caught on the Kenai and weighed in at over 97 pounds! Many of our guests catch fish in the
20 to 30 pound range, and 50 to 60 pound kings are even caught on occasion. Whether you're an accomplished angler or a recreational fisherman,
our professional guides will put you on the fish. Up to four people fish comfortably from our state-of-the-art Willie Predator power boats
on the lower Kenai River or Willie Nemesis power boats in Resurrection Bay.

Update as of March 1, 2019:
In the spirit of protecting the wild and critically important natural resource that is Kenai River king salmon, Kenai Riverside Fishing will be practicing catch and release fishing only for Kenai kings during the 2019 summer season. As stewards to the beautiful turquoise waters of the Kenai and all life forms the river supports, we're proud to uphold regulations outlined by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game regarding early run king salmon and extend those guidelines throughout the entirety of our summer season.
You can learn more about forecasts for returning Kenai king salmon and the importance of protecting, supporting and helping to resurrect healthy populations of this amazing species of fish at Fish for the Future and Cook Inlet Keeper, two amazing organizations we trust and are inspired by.
As in past years, our experienced and knowledgeable crew of professional fishing guides will be leading king salmon day trips in Resurrection Bay, near Seward, this summer. Resurrection Bay king salmon populations have been supported by a decades-long statewide stocking plan, and - presently - guests of Kenai Riverside Fishing will be able to catch and keep limited numbers of Resurrection Bay kings. Based on current 2019 regulations, non-residents may keep up to two Resurrection Bay-based king salmon per person, per day. Kenai Riverside Lodge fully respects and follows all regulations from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and limits on any species of Alaskan fish are subject to change by the State and will be upheld by our program.
Our reservations team looks forward to customizing your Kenai Riverside Fishing package to best meet your specific fishing goals, so please call or email us today. If any last-minute regulation changes occur during your trip, our talented team will work diligently to arrange an alternative day of fishing for similar species.
